Little bottles of seltzer water [a 4 pack] fell off the top shelf and broke shooting glass shards everywhere, cutting my leg in the process. A trip to the emergency room.

Your worst store accident?
by Apognophos inmine: i was walking around a grocery store with one of those snapple iced tea boxes dangling from one hand, looking for the other thing i ran in to buy.
suddenly the flimsy cardboard side of the box came unglued, and bottles dumped out, smashing open on the floor.
a river of iced tea began to run down the aisle.

Yehowah, the divine name known by the Watchtower, but not used.
by nibbled in(yeho?wah); gr., ?
the participle ho?weh is from the root verb ha?wah, related to the divine name, yehowah.. .

She was a JW- Taught me that I didn't want to raise my daughter like she raised her's and to be the opposite of her and not be a 'gung ho' Witness.
My little brother [ Who was never baptized] came out of the 'closet' in the 90's and because my mother & siblings shunned him, and called him 'demonized' he committed suicide.

Hi! I'm New Here
by alecholmesthedetective inhi there, as was suggested to me, i'm starting this thread to say hi to everyone.. my awakening began recently, after the new light on the 'slave'.
i felt it didn't add up and went to check and found out ttatt.
for a while i tried to find evidence of whether the wt might still be god's organization, i needn't say i couldn't.. i had already resigned as a ministerial servant and a pioneer, had already had several issues with the elders and did not put up with their nonsense for a long.

Welcome Holmes! I was also a JW my entire life [49 yrs] and have also been recently enlightened. For my husband & I it was the Reasoning Book under 'Cross' they quoted the Imperial Bible Dictionary and it appeared to be pro-stake, but when i found the IBD on-line and actually looked at the quote it was an OMG! moment for us. If they lied about this, what else have they lied about. You will find JWfacts very helpful. Everything you will learn can be checked out and you will see who really is telling 1/2 truths & lies. Peace on your journey and it will be difficult and at times you will feel like you just can't take anymore truth but hang in there, once you come thru the fire, you will realize tht Jesus is truly calling His sheep and not everyone is hearing His voice.

Welcome to the board. I am technically a current JW, but am trying to fade. Just take your time, relax, breathe and start your journey to find the 'real' truth. jwfacts.com is a good place to start.

The 24 Elders in Revelation are NOT the anointed......
by EndofMysteries intoday i just thought of this.
i had written a thread about the false teaching of the anointed being resurrected already.
anyway, the wt assumes the 24 elders in revelation are the 144,000, and the assumption is merely because both sit on thrones.

AGuest: According to Rev 11:15,16 the 24 elders could not be humans [Abraham, Noah, Moses, etc] from the Earth. The Book of Enoch mentions at least 7 or 8 Archangels by name.

Interesting discussion. I was just talking about this with my husband. We read the Book of Enoch, which mentions several detailed accounts of how archangel's interact with Jesus & humans. Mentioning several by name. We believe that the 24 elders are the archangels that serve Jesus and around the throne. That is why they are 'around' the throne.

Sickening Dilemma
by ItsMyLife ini would like to have your opinions on what i should do about a situation please.. i have recently discovered that a 'brother' in the congregation (which i no longer attend) is a child molester.
i've seen documentation from his psychiatrist dated a few years ago, stating that he doesn't feel that this person is likely to offend again.
the 'brother' has said to the elders at some point that he has it under control but cannot be 100% sure it won't happen again.

Also, forgot to add.... in those same articles Nov/2011 pg 24 the footnote right above the picture of clay tablets reads: "Business tablets exist for all the years traditionally attributed to the Neo-Babylonian kings. When the years that these kings ruled are totaled and a calculation is made back from the last Neo-Babylonian king, Nabonidus, the date reached for the destruction of Jerusalem is 587 B.C.E. HOWEVER [emphasis mine], this method of dating works ONLY [Emphasis mine again] if each king followed the other in the same year without any breaks in between.
They basically admit that the business records only go to 587 B.C.E but we still won't change it.

Warm Welcome WW2G to you and your family.
I cannot find the book you're thinking of but they did 2 articles in the [Public] WT Oct/2011 pg 26-31 & Nov/2011 pg 22-28 they say the same thing.
If you go to the Nov/2011 pg 23: the footnote right under 'Business tablets' actually says. " None of the secular experts quoted in this article hold that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 B.C.E
